The Fix

Our work with Roy Hill

Written by Communications | 31 Oct 2022

Earlier this year we announced a new contract to construct a pipeline and transfer pond infrastructure at the Roy Hill Mine site.

The scope of work is comprised of two main parts and is being undertaken by our East Pilbara projects team. The first part is the installation of 18 kilometres of buried high density polyethylene (HDPE) pipe, including one creek crossing and two road crossings, along with a light vehicle access road. The second component is the supply and installation of mechanical, electrical, controls and piping for a 200 metre by 130 metre transfer pond to support expanded dewatering activities.

General Manager Mining & Minerals North West Region Nick Raffan said this is a significant contract which helps us build on our strong pipeline of work in the Pilbara.

“Diversification of our customer base in the area of water infrastructure is important for our work surety, particularly as projects of this nature are generally longer term, rostered works,” he said.

“Our team’s focus now is on successful completion within the timeframe and building a strong customer relationship, to help open the door to future opportunities.”

Our team commenced work in August 2022, with a staged completion from December through to February 2023.

They are hard at work and have already set two unofficial world welding records, achieving 16 and 17 welds per day with the one tracked welding machine!
