Brendan Coyne started his journey with Monadelphous two and a half years ago as a mechanical fitter with the idler maintenance team at Dampier. He was recently promoted from Supervisor to Senior Planner, a key leadership role up in Karratha.
Brendan said that his new role means he has responsibility in ensuring the team is prepared for upcoming shutdowns.
“Since the promotion three months ago, my main responsibilities include planning the work for the upcoming shuts and allocating labour,” he said.
“This involves working with the customer and the Monadelphous team to successfully execute the scope of work.”
Brendan said that communication and maintaining strong relationships both internally and with the customer is an important part of his role.
“We are fortunate to have a fantastic team up here and such a positive team culture, which really makes the job much easier,” he said.
“I love communicating with the team and working with everyone involved to make sure we deliver on what we promise.”
Also an avid traveler, Brendan managed to backpack around thirty countries before his thirtieth birthday.
“One of the best backpacking experiences I had was sailing though Croatia and the Greek Islands,” he said.
“I also travelled quite a bit pre-pandemic and would love to travel back to Switzerland soon to trek through the mountains.”
In his time off, Brendan makes the most of the great lifestyle in Karratha by playing golf and fishing. He is also pretty handy in the kitchen and enjoys cooking.
