Years’ worth of relationship building, and collaboration have paid off, with the Heavy Lift team in partnership with Fagioli, established on site at Fortescue Metals Group’s (FMG) new mine, Iron Bridge and making big moves.
In August, the team achieved their first big self-propelled modular transporters (SPMT) move, shifting a switchroom to the construction area at Iron Bridge. Since then, the team have moved from strength to strength as construction activities commenced and the demand for the SPMT rapidly increasing.
We secured the contract to deliver specialist heavy lifting and haulage services at the Iron Bridge Magnetite Project with NMT International (Australia) through our collaboration with global heavy lifting services company Fagioli.
Since the initial award, NMT have since increased our scope of work to include the supply and operation of both crawler and hydraulic cranes, platform trailers with prime movers, 900 plus heavy duty support stools and extensive transport engineering activities.
The strategic collaboration with Fagioli enables us to noticeably increase our heavy lifting capacity and broaden our capability for the Australian resources and energy markets.
This milestone was one for the teams to be very proud of.
