Shane Preston has been with Monadelphous for four years, starting out as a Boilermaker and working hard to progress quickly through the ranks. A year ago, he was promoted to Leading Hand and then six months ago to Supervisor at Mount Thorley, NSW.
Shane’s stand-out work ethic, dedication and positive attitude as part of the Bulga CHPP team recently drew the attention of the customer and earned him formal recognition with a Positive Contribution letter.
Operations Manager Greg Walker said Shane deserves the recognition and his efforts have not gone unnoticed.
“It is great to see our Supervisors setting the standard for our teams and leading from the front,” he said.
“Shane has been personally commended by our customer for displaying their values in his work and recognised specifically for his efforts and performance leading up to and throughout the recent Raw Coal shutdown.”
Manager Southern NSW Operations Nathan Brown said that Shane is an asset to the team.
“Shane goes above and beyond in all that he does – his preparation work for the recent scope of work underpinned the success of the team in delivering for the customer on the recent shut,” he said.
“His involvement in the pre-planning of various major structural repair projects and his document preparation was of an especially high standard and enabled efficient processes.”
Shane’s work included the development of rosters to balance staff competencies and importantly manage fatigue on site, all contributing to safe and efficient completion. He also assisted with applying work methodologies that focused on best practice, ensuring the team delivered excellence for the customer.
Shane’s ability to react quickly and provide solutions for challenges that cropped up meant the work kept the project on track, with further works able to proceed without delay. This included personally procuring the supply of the final rail section for the ROM Bin Apron upgrade works.
Congratulations Shane on another job well done.
