A fond farewell to Angie

Written by Communications | 28 Aug 2025

If you’ve ever set foot in our Kalgoorlie branch, chances are you’ve been greeted or helped by Angie.

After 24 years of keeping the place running like clockwork, she is now hanging up her headset and heading into retirement.

Angie has been the go-to person in Kalgoorlie, the one who always knows what’s going on, who’s doing what and which cupboard the missing stationery has disappeared into. Reliable, diligent and quietly supportive, she’s been there for every high, low and everything in between.

Her teammates say she’ll be remembered for her no-fuss approach, her military-style monitoring of supplies, and her uncanny ability to track down anyone who has broken the rules.

As one teammate put it, there isn’t anything that goes on around the Kalgoorlie branch that Angie doesn’t know about or what needs to happen.

And then there are the stories.

Teresa Fariss, who works with Angie, remembers an admin team night out at the annual Hormone Hoedown.

We all had a fantastic night, but a memory that will stick with me forever was witnessing Angie dance the Nutbush! She lasted the whole song!” Teresa said.

Alex Longworth, who worked in Kalgoorlie before relocating to Bunbury, also had his favourite moment.

“Listening to her tell off Brett Cooper for putting too much Milo in his Milo,” Alex said.

As her retirement nears, Angie has shared a heartfelt message with everyone.

“It is with great sadness that I leave Monadelphous. I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for my time working with Monadelphous and the Kalgoorlie team, as they have been a big part of my life,” Angie said.

“I have met some amazing people over the years, and it’s been a pleasure to have worked with a great team. Thank you to everyone for their friendship and for making it a place where everyone supports each other, and you want to come to work every day. I will take away some great memories.

“I want to wish Monadelphous and the Kalgoorlie Team all the very best for the future.”

All in all, Angie has been an integral part of the Kalgoorlie office, so here’s to a massive thank you for being the friendly face, the rule enforcer, the party organiser and the glue of the team for nearly a quarter of a century.
