Leadership Updates
1 Minute Read

Welcome back to The Pipeline, providing you an update from the Mining and Minerals Southern Region.

I would like to kick off this update by commending our recent safety performance, having just ticked over 80 days recordable incident free. This is an awesome effort from everyone across our locations, and I’m proud we were all able to remain focused on striving for a positive safety record off the back of our previous performance. I urge you to continue this level of attention and commitment, particularly as we head towards the end of the year.

Over the last few months, we have seen increased activity across the region, and it has been great to see our teams continue to step up to the challenge and produce high quality work for our customers. Ultimately, our ability to deliver has seen us successfully renew all our contracts to date – which is a testament to all your hard work.

On that note, let’s take a quick whip around to see what some of our teams have recently achieved out in the field.

The Goldfields team installed the rafters and bracing to huge concentrate storage shed construction project at the nickel smelter.

Check out the pre-assembly of the electrostatic precipitator (ESP) trough hopper which weighs an impressive 56 tonnes. It required specialist transport and a police escort to get it to the Kalgoorlie nickel smelter site roughly 20 kilometres away.

Check out this 30 tonne rotary dryer kiln that was fabricated down at our RTW business in the south west - pretty impressive.

This is only skimming the surface of what our teams have delivered over the past few months. There have been many examples of our people displaying behaviours aligned to our core values, both out in the field and in the office, which we have seen highlighted in our Monos Moments. Since launch, we have had almost 20 nominations, and we want to see more! Click here to get nominating.

It's hard to believe that we are just a few months away from the end of the year. As we head into this busy season, it's important we continue our focus on safety and quality. The way we are heading, our teams are on track to close out 2023 with strong a performance, which will help to set us up for success into 2024.

Keep up the good work and look after each other.
