Monadelphous was once again proud to support the Southern Scorpions at this year’s Country Week, helping the team travel to the tournament through our Community Grants Program.

Albany’s Southern Scorpions travelled to Perth with a squad of 11 for the CSBP Senior Women’s Country Week, competing in the A-section and setting their sights on a first top-division title.

Country Week featured a fast‑paced T20‑style format that rewarded sharp fielding, smart bowling changes and cool heads under pressure.

Led by captain Holly Pearce, the side blended experienced Country Week campaigners with several new faces from Albany, highlighting the continued growth of women’s cricket in the Great Southern.

Despite the weekend’s results not landing quite where the team had hoped, the experience was a blast and spirits stayed high. The Scorpions wrapped up the round in fourth place on the ladder, with the weekend’s results below.

Scores:

Game 1: 8-87 Def by Bunbury Red 2-122

Game 2: 10-70 Def by Geraldton Blue 9-102

Game 3: 3/127 Win over West Pilbara 7/121

Game 4: 6/82 Def by Peel Blue 4/114

We remain committed to supporting regional sport and community activity in the places where we live and work, and it was fantastic to help give local teams more opportunities to compete.
