Nothing bonds a team quite like dunking managers in icy cold water, especially when it raises over $2,000 for cancer support.
The Daffodil Day Dip at Muja Power Station was a huge success, with laughter, splashes and plenty of competitive bidding for the chance to send someone under a bucket of freezing water. Thanks to everyone’s generosity, a brilliant $2,120 was raised.
Behind the fun was a powerful reminder of why it mattered. It was inspired by Rod, who has spent many years working alongside our Muja team. Rod has been open about his own cancer diagnosis and the way it has touched so many people across the site. His wife Christine, a counsellor and author, has supported him every step of the way and shared with the team what it’s like to walk beside someone on that journey and the importance of health checks, seeking support, and not putting off the things that bring you joy.
To show his support, our very own Site Manager, Robert Day, bravely stepped forward to take part in the dip, reminding everyone that while cold water is uncomfortable, it’s nothing compared to what those living with cancer face every day.
Cold water never felt so worth it.
