Celebrating International Women’s Day in 2025

Every year, International Women’s Day (IWD) marks a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the women who make our business and workspaces great, encourage gender equality and reinforce our commitment to creating inclusive and respectful workplaces.

This year’s Australian United Nations theme, ‘March Forward: For ALL Women and Girls’, reminds us that progress is not just about reflection but about taking decisive, bold steps to turn our commitments into action.

Part of our celebrations included an online roundtable discussion with more than 180 people tuning in to listen to four inspiring women from Monos’ sharing their career journeys, what a day in their role looks like, and some insights they’ve gained throughout their work life.

The team enjoyed anecdotes and a few laughs from Ann Brinkamp (Manager – Training, Indigenous Engagement and Early Careers), Karen Keating (Commercial Manager M&IS), Paige Griffiths (Project Manager EC), and Bec Voyer (Group Environmental Lead).

Missed out on tuning in? You can watch it back here!

While our site-based teams all marked the day differently. From discussing talking points in their pre-start meeting to attending special events, it was great to see IWD celebrated everywhere.

Some of our Kalgoorlie team marked IWD with a special International Women’s Day breakfast, where Rabia Siddique, an international humanitarian lawyer, retired British Army senior officer, former war crimes and terrorism prosecutor, and hostage survivor, delivered an empowering address.

Rabia’s story resonated deeply with the audience, with many moved to tears by her powerful message about dealing with trauma, self-care, resilience, and the importance of mental health. She encouraged everyone to take control of their own path and live with strength and integrity despite challenges. Her words earned her a standing ovation from the audience, who showed immense respect and empathy for her journey.

The event, which was fully booked, also featured key speakers such as Ali Kent (Member of Parliament), the Goldfields Aboriginal Community Services (Aboriginal Ranger Team), and Gloria Moyle (CEO of Women’s Health Care Centre), who moderated the event.

We also showcased some of our team across our social media channels. You can check them out here: LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram.

International Women’s Day isn’t the only time we celebrate and support women. Our Gender Diversity and Inclusion Plan guides our work in supporting women to achieve their full potential both at Monadelphous and within the industries where we work. We also have corporate membership with National Association of Women in Operations (NAWO), which means you can become a member for free. Signing up will give you access to resources, events, networking opportunities and webinars.

Thank you to everyone who joined in celebrating International Women’s Day across our sites and offices.
