The team at Worsley Alumina have had a great run of success this year with Jess Ferrari and Demi Hunter both being recognised for their great work and commitment to delivering safely.
Project Manager, Chad Sellenger said that it’s a credit to Jess, Demi and the wider team for being awarded by our customer and acknowledging their dedication to The Safe Way is the Only Way.
“We have a tight-knit team, where everyone is genuinely very supportive of their teammates when they receive recognition,” he said.
Jess was recognised for identifying that a confined space atmosphere test had not been completed and immediately implemented risk controls, ceased all tasks and reported to the Shutdown Coordinator for atmospheric testing to be completed.
Demi was acknowledged for her commitment to her job, for always asking questions and keeping an incredibly upbeat and positive attitude, even when she had the relatively mundane job of sentry.
Both Jess and Demi bring a genuine appreciation to the job and are enthusiastic about their work in delivering high quality outcomes for the customer.
The team really rallied around Jess and Demi and were thrilled to see both of them recognised for what they continuously do on-site.
“Ultimately we are a local community – parents who either work for Monadelphous or have worked at Worsley previously feel comfortable sending their children (now young adults) to site knowing that there is a great support network, it’s a safe place to work and has a truly positive environment,” Chad said.
“I think it’s important that we continue to provide a workplace that is inclusive, supportive and most importantly, where everyone in our team feels comfortable and safe coming to work each day, with a great level of respect amongst the group.
“It has been especially great to see that more women are working in our industry compared to several years ago. “
Well done to Jess, Demi and the team.
