Culture, connection and celebration

In March 2026, as the sun rose on the banks of the Derbarl Yerrigan (Swan River), our Perth employees and Executive team gathered with Monadelphous Board members, customers, suppliers and special guests to celebrate a special moment for Monadelphous - the official launch of our newest Stretch Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) for 2026-2029.

Managing Director, Zoran Bebic, and General Manager HR, Dean Brajevic, spoke to our shared responsibility to leave a positive mark in the communities where we work, and that means approaching reconciliation for the long term. With this launch of our third Stretch RAP (fifth overall), we’ll keep building cultural understanding across our company, expanding and supporting real job and career opportunities, and working in partnership with Indigenous businesses in the places we operate.

A deep respect for Aboriginal culture was felt throughout the proceedings. Whadjuk Ballardong Elder, Aunty Robyn Collard opened the event with a Welcome to Country and smoking ceremony, accompanied by a didgeridoo performance from her grandson, Tryse Rioli. Following Zoran’s official launch of our Stretch RAP, guests were inspired by the cultural storytelling of Mirliny, performing dances which have been passed down through generations of Indigenous families.

Across the country in our Brisbane office, employee celebrations were led by General Manager, Chris Tabrett, including a Welcome to Country by Refiti Tovi and a didgeridoo performance by Goma Conlon.

What’s next?
You will hear more about our Stetch RAP and our commitments in upcoming Toolbox Talks onsite, where you will consider and talk about the ways we all work together in our ongoing journey for reconciliation.
Hard copies of our Stretch RAP will be landing on sites over the next few weeks, and you can access a digital copy at any time through our website.

Upcoming events:
National Reconciliation Week – 27 May to 3 June.
Each year, we recognise Reconciliation Week as a time to reflect on our reconciliation journey, learn about our shared histories, and explore how we can further contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia.
