For Senior Purchasing Administrator Julianne Langley, having a supportive workplace has meant she has been able to achieve a great work / life balance in her 20 years at Monadelphous.
Julianne kicked off her career at Monadelphous two decades ago as the sole Purchasing Officer for the Maintenance and Industrial Service division.
She had a two-year stint cycling the Americas before returning to the Company in 2012.
When she returned, the purchasing team was much larger following considerable growth and was a centralised function for EC and M&IS. Her next role was to build the purchasing team in Manila, which grew from an initial team of three to now a team of 10.
Julianne said she now looks after the receipting team and travels to Manila each year to connect in person with the team.
“Throughout my career so far I have also had the chance to travel to various Monadelphous offices to carry out JDE and e5 training,” she said.
“I’m very fortunate to have had great leaders and bosses that have backed me up throughout my time at Monadelphous, not only in work, but in ensuring I have work life balance.”
Outside of work Julianne is passionate about cricket, having played from the age of 13 to 28 in Perth for Midland-Guildford.
“Cricket gave me so much in my life, including lifelong friendships and the chance to travel Australia and the world,” she said.
“When I moved to Denmark in WA’s South-West, it was a good chance to give back to cricket, helping young country girls follow their dreams of playing the sport they love, which is so rewarding to be a part of.”
Julianne now coaches the Southern Scorpions team who recently participated in Women’s Country Week Cricket with the support of Monadelphous.
“The sponsorship enabled the girls to travel to the tournament, from where they are based across the Great Southern and Goldfields regions,” she said.
“I was lucky to play in an all-women’s competition throughout my career, but the Southern Scorpion girls play with the boys, so to be able to participate in an all-women’s tournament means so much to them and helps to opens up pathways for them.”
Julianne said she is grateful for the ongoing support she receives at Monadelphous, both at work and beyond.
