Monadelphous was proud to support the Southern Scorpions at this year’s Country Week, helping them travel to the tournament through our Community Grants Program.
The funding helped the team travel to the tournament, where they delivered their most successful campaign since the competition began in 2021—only missing a grand final spot by the narrowest of margins.
And they absolutely delivered—finishing with their best-ever tournament! The Scorps won three out of four of their T20-style games, only missing a grand final spot on percentage after their first match was washed out—the only abandoned game of the tournament.
Despite that setback, the team put in a standout performance:
🏏 A two-wicket win over Peel Blue, with Shyanne Thomas-Mirrielees taking two wickets and Patricia Hoveler anchoring the chase with an unbeaten 37.
🏏 A strong 17-run victory over Bunbury Blue, restricting their rivals to 3-111 before chasing it down with 5-128.
🏏 A final four-wicket win over Geraldton Blue, with Holly Pearce taking two wickets and Megan Bam (35) and Ruby York (24) securing the win in the last over.
We were also excited to sponsor the game ball for the Player of the Match, recognising standout performances throughout the tournament.
We’re committed to investing in the communities where we live and work, and it’s fantastic to see the impact of our Community Grants Program in action.
Well done to the Scorps on an incredible tournament—we can’t wait to see what they achieve next year!
