Six months into the year and we have achieved a lot across our business.
We are currently working on finalising our strategy for the next financial year. What that means for you is we’ll be able to provide you with an update on where we should be focusing our efforts, ensuring we are selecting the right work and continue to set our people up for success. I look forward to sharing more with you in the coming months, under our pillars of people, performance and reputation.
Another outstanding month from a safety perspective, adding to our overall strong performance for the last four months. I would particularly like to mention our unwavering focus on our fatal risk controls that have seen us continue to ensure our tasks are assessed correctly before we start work. I’d like to thank you all and encourage you to continue this trajectory. I would like to give a special shout out to our team in Port Hedland working on our balance machine defect elimination project who recently celebrated three years incident-free. Well done team, we will be hearing more about this in an upcoming edition.
Despite our strong safety performance, it would be remiss of me not to mention the difficult time our industry has encountered recently with a number of devastating fatalities. In case you missed it in your inbox, you can read a message from our Managing Director on our Life Saving Rules in this edition.
Now, on the project front, it's been great to see so much activity across our region with enough work to keep everyone busy right up until Christmas. If you haven’t already, speak to your Manager, Supervisor or our mobilisation team to find out what opportunities are best for you.
We often talk about how our reputation in the market helps us to secure additional work. A perfect example of this is our work on the gravity take-up (GTU) systems across the region over the last five years. Our team has recently been awarded an additional contract off the back of their ongoing strong performance; you can read more about our work in this space here.
As you may know, at this time of year, we celebrate reconciliation and NAIDOC week. I encourage you to educate yourself and get involved in these activities in your area. It's important we engage with these initiatives as a part of our Stretch RAP (Reconciliation Action Plan) commitments.
Lastly, you may have noticed this edition of The Fix looks a little different. We have taken on board your feedback and upgraded our newsletter website, meaning you can now keep up-to-date with news from our business, easily access our range of employee benefits and check out Monadelphous’ latest job opportunities. If you’re keen to hear what’s happening in other areas of Monadelphous, you can subscribe to their newsletters, so they’re delivered straight to your inbox. This can be managed at the bottom of this email, just click on manage preferences.
Until next time.
