A twist of fate

Meet Aaron Ford, a seasoned Project Manager with nearly half a decade under his belt, whose career began with a twist of fate.

Aaron's journey started with an unexpected detour when his uncle, an underground Superintendent, offered him an opportunity that would change his life.

"I only lasted three months studying to become a teacher," he said.

"My uncle's offer allowed me to save money for travel, and I never looked back. My initial years in Port Hedland revolved around car dumper mega shutdowns."

In his current role, Aaron leads a dynamic team, often embarking on multi-disciplinary projects.

"Recently, we've ventured into the civil and electrical space, where we currently have around 50 personnel," Aaron said.

"I've been part of exciting ventures like shutdowns at Boddington, BHP CD3 and CD1 mega shuts, as well as the FMG Moisture Reduction Program."

The CD3 project was a particular highlight so far for Aaron, which came with its unique challenges, but a dedicated team ensured timely and budget-conscious completions.

"It was a massive project with over 500 people involved. Thanks to our strong leadership, we finished on time and within budget," he said.

What makes Monadelphous special for Aaron is the shared commitment to the company's core values, which have created a unified and supportive work environment.

"It's how we work together that sets us apart from others – we all share the same goals and believe in our core values," he said.

Looking ahead, Aaron's passion for the challenge of diverse project scopes keeps him motivated and excited.

"I really enjoy the challenge of the different types of work scopes we take on as a team,” he said.

“There is never a dull moment working in the civil, mechanical and electrical space.”

Aaron makes the most of spending quality time with his children outside of work, particularly during the summer.

"We frequent our local beach for snorkeling, jet skiing and surfing—just creating unforgettable memories together," he said.
