Welcome to this edition of Around the Sites.

Firstly, I want to congratulate the team at Kathleen Valley for winning the inaugural Teamwork Baton Award. This recognition reflects their exceptional collaboration, effort, and commitment from across business units, which contributed to the project's success. Well done to everyone involved!

I also want to congratulate several team members on their well-deserved promotions.

  • Mark Weldon - Construction Manager
  • Sal Fazzino - Construction Manager
  • Michard Ford - Project Manager

Your hard work and dedication have made an impact and we look forward to your continued contribution in your new roles.

In mid-July, our Australian operations and offices joined forces to celebrate NAIDOC Week. It was inspiring to see how we celebrated the history, culture and achievements of First Nations peoples.

On the projects front

In late July, we secured a major construction contract to deliver modifications to Woodside’s Pluto Liquefied Natural Gas onshore facility near Karratha. Our long-standing relationship with Woodside, spanning more than 20 years, is a testament to the reliability and trust we’ve built together. We are proud to continue our work for Woodside, further solidifying Monadelphous' reputation for delivering safe and reliable construction services.

We closed out the financial year on a strong note, and in August Monadelphous announced new construction contracts in the iron ore and renewable energy sectors valued at approximately $340 million. This includes:

  1. a multidisciplinary construction contract at BHP's Orebody 32 in Newman, Western Australia
  2. a design and construct contract working for a Rio Tinto port operation in the Pilbara, WA, to be delivered by Mondium, our engineering, procurement and construction joint venture, and
  3. balance-of-plant civil and electrical works on the Lotus Creek Wind Farm in Central Queensland, to be delivered by Zenviron, our renewable energy joint venture.

Current projects:

  • CD3: Our work on the CD3 project continues steadily, with the team maintaining strong progress.
  • CGP3: CGP3 is ramping up with mobilisation progressing well. We now have access to most areas, and most of the materials have arrived on-site, enabling us to forge ahead with the works.
  • Kemerton: Unfortunately, the impact of low commodity prices has led to a decision not to proceed with the expansion at the Kemerton project. While this is disappointing, we have plans in place to redeploy people from the project to other opportunities within our portfolio.
  • Western Range: Major shutdown works commenced in late July, and I’m pleased to report that the client is exceptionally happy with the team's performance, especially their fantastic safety efforts. The shutdown was completed successfully, and we have a small team onsite completing miscellaneous works.

Projects wrapping up

  • Kathleen Valley: A big congratulations to the Kathleen Valley team for successfully wrapping up on site last month. Your dedication and hard work have ensured a smooth handover to the Liontown commissioning team, who are now on track to produce the first concentrate by the end of the month, just as planned.
  • TUL Project: The final shutdown at the TUL project has been successfully completed, and the team has now demobilised. Well done to everyone involved, your collective efforts have brought this project to a close.
  • Mount Weld: Congratulations to the Mount Weld team for successfully completing their onsite work back in June. It’s fantastic to see everyone making the smooth transition to new projects.

As always, safety remains our top priority. Stay safe, focused, and take the time to plan your work and assess the risks. The Safe Way is The Only Way

Thank you for your dedication and commitment.
