G’day everyone and welcome to the final edition of In the Loop for 2025.
As we rapidly approach the end of the year, I wanted to take the opportunity to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Whether you’re heading off for a well-earned break or keeping things moving over the holiday period, please stay safe, check in with your mates and take a moment to recharge.
Maintaining our strong focus on safety is more important than ever, particularly as this time of year is filled with distractions. Our safety performance has been disappointing this year, so let’s work together to raise the bar and get it back to the high standards we’re capable of. Remember that The Safe Way is the Only Way.
On a positive note, we’ve done well with awards and recognition across the Eastern Region. In Victoria, one of our apprentices at BMC was recognised by Weld Australia at the Welding Excellence Awards as a finalist in the ‘Young Tradesperson of the Year’ category – congratulations Jack! We had a clean sweep over in Gladstone, taking out three categories at the Gladstone Engineering Alliance Awards, well done to those guys.
We also launched the inaugural Monadelphous Gladstone Community Grants Program and have awarded grants to 10 worthy community groups and sporting clubs, and look forward to sharing their stories over the coming year. Our community grants are all about supporting what matters locally - from promoting safety, health and fitness to building stronger social connections, wellbeing and future careers.
Finally, to those continuing to work over the break, thank you for your dedication; it is greatly appreciated.
Stay safe and see you in the new year!
Duane
