The ‘Green Machine’ or the LV800 pro remote-controlled mower is helping the Hunter Valley team increase their operational efficiency – one patch of vegetation at a time. Originally created for the forestry industry, Monos’ ‘Green Machine’ is used for a range of jobs, particularly for high-risk areas around water, dams and confined spaces – all with no risk to the operator.
Recently, the ‘Green Machine’ was used to remove coal spillage from a confined space sump under a train loading facility, removing the need for personnel to enter the confined space to complete the work.
“Without the ‘Green Machine’, a job like removing spillage from a confined space would have involved our people entering the space and exposing themselves to avoidable levels of risk,” Site Manager Gareth said.
“Since acquiring this bit of kit, we’ve been able to reduce the common risks with the type of work we do.
“The ‘Green Machine’ keeps the operator up to 150 metres away from the action, so it's very handy for removing vegetation from dam walls and levy banks. We’ve also used it for access under powerline easements and kept our personnel away from electrical hazards.”
We can’t wait to see what the ‘Green Machine’ does next!
