Celebrating Lunar New Year

In Mongolia, Lunar New Year, known as Tsagaan Sar, is a vibrant celebration steeped in rich tradition and cultural significance. As families and communities come together to usher in the new year according to the lunar calendar, it's not just a time for festivity but also a moment to honour the heritage and strengthen bonds.

This year, the staff in Mongolia celebrated the spirit of Tsagaan Sar with office and workshop gatherings, where the team came dressed in their traditional gowns to share traditional meals buuz, dumplings streamed mutton, with their friends and co-workers. As part of the tradition, elderly team members were greeted by younger team members and wished them prosperity and health. The team shared interesting stories and played traditional games with knuckle bone shooting and watched the Oyu Tolgoi organized Mongolian Traditional Wrestling match after work.

One of the central elements of Tsagaan Sar is the traditional feast where loved ones gather to enjoy an array of delicacies symbolic of prosperity, good fortune, and abundance.

The lunches hosted by the staff provided a platform for cultural exchange and learning, where individuals from diverse backgrounds came together to partake in the festivities. Sharing traditional dishes not only tasted amazing but also served as a bridge connecting people through the universal language of food.

With 2024 marking the Year of the Dragon, we would like to wish everyone the strength and courage of the dragon as they pursue their goals.
