Over the past 12 months, the offshore projects team have been working tirelessly across a variety of disciplines to make meaningful improvements to the customers’ offshore facilities.
In 2024 alone, the team completed over 900 maintenance orders – the equivalent of 378,000 site hours! As part of the significant maintenance orders, the team applied more than 20T of anti-corrosion and fire protection, remediated 2,000 sqm of deck, completed high risk wellhead module corrosion work as well as refurbishing the production platform’s Flare Bridge.
The Flare Bridge refurbishment marks a significant milestone for both the customer and the project team. Planning for this complex task began in 2012, and the work represents a major milestone for the customer as it fulfills NOPSEMA’s (Australia’s offshore energy regulator) request to develop and implement a plan to complete fabric maintenance on the Flare Support Structure and access bridge. The scope of refurbishment encompassed primary and secondary structural elements, as well as handrails, walkways, and cable and pipe supports.
“Our team has delivered exceptional outcomes, focused on three core pillars – fabric maintenance, inspection and project delivery,” Project Director Jamie Burgess explained.
“We’re ensuring asset integrity while achieving substantial cost savings through continuous improvement and innovation.”
Looking ahead, the team is preparing for the next phase of work, which includes structural reinforcement, hazardous piping upgrades, and the execution of high-risk scopes such as HVAC removals and Flare Bridge bearing support.
