Following the recent collaborative efforts of the Tom Price project team we reached out to the team involved to share their stories and get to know them better.

Avery Rawung is a Senior Project Engineer for the Tom Price team, who joined Monadelphous in January 2020.  Two and a half years on, he has spent much of this time working in the Pilbara region.

Avery said that one of the main highlights so far has been working on some really significant projects.

“I have had the opportunity to be involved with some big projects including working on stackers on the MAC Stretch Assist 1 project and experiencing the Newman Stretch Assist project for the Sustaining Capital/Civil & Infrastructure Projects team, as well as executing the TP GTU Upgrades Phase 1 for Tom Price Projects team,” he said.

“My main responsibilities are tendering and project management, which is really varied and includes: scheduling; planning; procurement; engineering; client and stakeholder interface; fabrication management; subcontractor hire; coordination of logistics for materials and personnel; cost control and quality assurance/control – amongst other things!

“I’ve also really enjoyed being able to mentor new graduates as part of my role and help them get started on their career pathways – it is great to be a part of this journey.”

Avery said that outside of his busy role he enjoys being outdoors and keeping active.

“When I’m not working, I take every opportunity to take my dog on hikes and to the beach,” he said.

“Aside from that, I play a bit of basketball and enjoy travelling when I can.”
