Leadership Updates
2 Minute Read

It’s been a solid start to the year, and I want to acknowledge the effort everyone’s putting in across our sites. There’s a lot of hard work going in day in, day out, and it’s making a difference where it counts. As we move into the final week of May, I’d like to share a few updates from across the business and acknowledge the great work happening behind the scenes.

Since my last update, we launched our new Stretch Reconciliation Action Plan 2026-2029. This is an important step in continuing our long-term commitment to reconciliation through meaningful action, stronger capability, and deeper partnerships. At our recent EC Town Hall, I spoke about some of the initiatives making a real difference on our project sites. What matters here is turning commitments into practical outcomes on our projects and in our workplaces. I encourage everyone to take the time to understand what this means and how we can each play a part.

Now, around the sites. At Brockman Syncline 1, the team has been focused on delivering the first shutdown and setting the plant up for the next phase. While there was some additional scope to work through, the crew stayed on task and delivered safely and on schedule. That’s a solid result. The Civil team has progressed extremely well and are quickly getting through the scope, setting the rest of the job up for success. Structural steel is now arriving on site, and installation is progressing around the primary crusher – it’s great to see things continuing to surge forward.

At Pluto Train 1, performance to date has been first class. The shutdown is progressing well, and although there were some early access delays, the team has worked through these and is now on the recovery path. We remain forecast to deliver on our commitments, which reflects the quality of planning and the effort being applied on the ground. Well done to everyone for maintaining focus and momentum.

At Prominent Hill, the team is now fully demobilised following a long and demanding scope. Closing out a project properly takes discipline and commitment, so thank you to everyone who contributed to bringing that work to completion. Check out the project video here.

Our Tendering team continues to build strong momentum and pursue new opportunities. Their work is critical in securing the pipeline that supports our future workload.

From a safety perspective, we continue to see strong leadership across our projects. A special mention to our February Tinny Time winner Kelvin Starling at BS1 for his commitment to mentoring others and reinforcing safe work practices. That kind of leadership, supporting your teammates and setting the right standards, is what underpins our safety performance.

We’re also seeing good progress through innovation, with practical ideas coming through MProve, including the robotic dam initiative. This idea was the focus of a university thesis and, backed by research, trials and validation, has since progressed into a promising new approach. It’s a strong example of how well-considered ideas can deliver safer and more efficient outcomes in the field.

Thank you again for the effort, professionalism, and teamwork you’re bringing to the job. Let’s continue to look out for one another. Your efforts are key to strengthening our reputation and positioning us for success in 2026 and beyond.

Brett
