Welcome back to this edition of Around the Sites.
As we move into another productive period, I'm pleased to share significant updates and achievements from across our sites.
Firstly, we've reinforced our long-term relationship with Rio Tinto by securing a new contract for shutdown and miscellaneous works at the Western Range Project in Paraburdoo. This win is a testament to our team's dedication and proven delivery on recent Rio Tinto Projects such as Gudai Darri. We're prioritising our tendering and estimating efforts to ensure a steady pipeline of future projects, stay tuned for updates as we announce the outcomes of these efforts.
Our project updates this month highlight the remarkable progress our teams are making:
- CD3: We've commenced active work on the CD3 project, completing two successful shutdowns. The 1600t crane ‘Rubino’ is commissioned and ready to work, with the main shutdown commencing early next year. You can read more the newest addition to our crane fleet here.
- Kathleen Valley: The project is now circa 95% complete, with significant quantities installed. We have 1,324 tonnes of structural, 185 km of cable, and 28 kms of piping almost complete. The wet plant construction has been in full swing with over 270 people on-site. We're approaching key handover milestones, with the Sag Mill recently handed over for commissioning.
- CGP3: The CGP3 project at Greenbushes is ramping up with numerous opportunities in the South West. We recently received our first batch of ‘Plug and Play’ buildings and are trialing a generator-battery hybrid system on the office buildings, aligning with Monadelphous' net zero target. Additionally, I’m proud to share that we have won the Contractor of the Quarter HSE Award at CGP3. Thank you to everyone for your dedication and hard work in making this possible.
- Albemarle Kemerton: Our work in the southwest of WA continues to perform well for the client despite an unprecedented shift due to the change in commodity price. Our contracts at Kemerton include the front-end pyromet works and utilities and reagents scope. We are also being provided the opportunity to secure the SMPE&I work on the Hydromet scope with some minor works being completed in the Hydromet works this month.
- Christmas Creek: The project has come to an end, completing the supply and construction of an overland conveyor and transfer station at Fortescue’s Christmas Creek mine. The team have now finished the commissioning and punchlisting and have demobilised from site with most personnel being re-deployed into our other mobilising projects. Well done to all involved for the efforts put into delivering this Project.
- Mount Weld: The last of the heavy lifts has been completed with the installation of the overhead travelling crane into the filter press building, which is taking its final shape. The team at Mt Weld continues to deliver in a similar fashion that they have done throughout the project, with safety and customer satisfaction at the forefront. The team are in full demobilisation mode, and being redeployed into other mobilising projects.
- TUL Project: We're preparing for a final shutdown in July to complete the works, with the project ending in early August. We're expanding Fortescue's iron ore export capacity at their stockyard facility in Port Hedland, managing nine SMPEI shutdowns, conveyor and shuttle extensions, chute replacements, and strengthening transfer stations.
You can find more detailed updates on our projects here.
In other news, our Wellbeing Supporter program, which kicked off at Christmas Creek in January, has successfully rolled out to CGP3, Kemerton, and Mount Weld. We're training our nominated Wellbeing Supporters in mental health first aid to foster a supportive environment across our sites.
As always, safety remains our top priority. Stay safe, focused and informed and for those taking a break remember safety continues away from the site. The Safe Way is The Only Way.
Thank you for your dedication and hard work.
