Hi team,
We’re now three months into a new financial year, and while it may not change our day-to-day, it does shape our goals. Our targets for 2025/26 include safety, revenue, profit, and cash – and we’re already in a strong position to deliver. There’s still plenty of work ahead, but if we stay focused and do what we do best, we’ll get there.
We’ve also had some exciting wins recently. SCJV has awarded us a major variation on the Perdaman Burrup Urea Project, covering concrete works for the conveyor corridor and urea storage shelter in the port area. And BHP has entrusted us with the earthworks and civil scope for the Jimblebar TLO Replacement Project – an integrated contract that brings together civil, mechanical, electrical, and fabrication teams across our Engineering Construction division.
Other projects are progressing well, including the Port Maximisation Project (PMaxP) at Geraldton Port, which is off to a flying start. Our integrated efforts with EC Projects, Mondium, and M&IS continue across several key sites: the CD3 Replacement Project in Port Hedland, CLAHDO at Cape Lambert, ANFO at Brockman, and the Prominent Hill Expansion in South Australia.
A major focus over the past few months has been building our capability in bulk earthworks. We’ve worked hard to recruit top-tier talent across pre-contracts, project management, engineering, and field leadership – and I’m proud to say we’ve built a strong in-house team. Their first assignment is the bulk earthworks scope on the Jimblebar TLO project, with more opportunities expected to follow.
Another exciting development is our recent tender submission for the Tonkin Highway Grade Separation Project, in joint venture with Seymour Whyte. This involves constructing two bridges over Tonkin Highway, and while Main Roads WA has a thorough assessment process, this tender represents a potential new line-of-business for Melchor.
We’ve welcomed many new faces to the team in recent months, so if you see someone new around the site or office, please take a moment to say hello and help them feel part of the crew.
There’s a lot happening across the business, and I want to thank you all for your continued commitment and professionalism. Let’s keep the momentum going and remember: the safe way is the only way.
Stay safe,
Stuart and Dylan
