It’s been another busy couple of months for Melchor. We’re continuing to both bid and deliver work, and our forecast results for the current financial year are looking solid. That performance is driven by the effort of our people, so thank you all for your hard work and commitment.
Our pre-contracts team remains very active, with a number of opportunities underway. We’re positioning ourselves well for several larger capital projects, alongside shorter-term work. While there’s nothing to confirm just yet, we’re optimistic about securing our next project in the near term.
Across our projects, we continue to support the Saipem Clough JV on Perdaman’s Urea Project, while the Port Maximisation Project for the Geraldton Port Authority has made strong progress in recent months. At Jimblebar, excavation for the train loadout structure is complete and concrete works are now underway. At Brockman Syncline 1, concrete works are progressing well and we are tracking ahead of key milestones. Works at CD4 continue to progress, and our project for Covalent Lithium in Kwinana is nearing completion.
It’s also been an important period beyond project delivery. Monadelphous recently launched its Stretch Reconciliation Action Plan 2026-2029, reinforcing our commitment to reconciliation through meaningful action, stronger capability and deeper partnerships. Our teams also marked International Women’s Day, recognising the contributions of women across our business and reinforcing the importance of connection, opportunity and inclusion in our workplaces.
On a personal note, it was great to see 10 members of our Melchor team named finalists in the 2026 WA Civil Construction Industry and Training Awards. Being recognised across such a broad range of categories is a true testament to the talent and dedication across our business. Congratulations to Kaienua Pera, who was named Apprentice of the Year (General), and Georgia Hoetzel, who received the award for Safety Professional of the Year.
Congratulations also to our recent internal award winners. Andy Iley, our Employee of the Month for March, was recognised for his proactive and collaborative approach in working with client representatives to optimise production rates. Leigh Hutching, our April winner, has demonstrated strong HSE leadership and a commitment to supporting new and developing team members. Well done also to Jay Soanes, our Talking Trowel Champion for March and April.
Finally, I’m pleased to share that Carley-Lee Ryan, one of our skilled carpenters, has been recognised with the SCJV Women in Construction – Rising Tradeswoman Award. This reflects her strong work ethic, craftsmanship and commitment to quality and safety.
In an industry facing ongoing skills shortages, it’s encouraging to see the strong talent we continue to attract. To support our growing team, we have recently updated and published our organisational chart, so reach out if you have any questions.
Please continue to support our new starters as they settle in and, as always, keep safety front of mind. The safe way is the only way.
