The latest Engineering Construction project with BHP, Orebody32, is piloting the next stage of the InEight project management system, representing a huge step forward for EC as we continue to improve ways of working and managing projects.

In recent months, the Project Helios Team, supported by many within the EC business, have been busy completing the design, building and testing of the next stage, which includes the ‘Change’ and ‘Control’ modules.  This week, the team is pleased to announce that the Helios project has now gone live with the Control and Change modules.

“We are grateful for the Orebody 32 project team, led by project manager, Alex Ford, for agreeing to be the pilot project for this next step in implementation and we thank them for their enthusiasm and willingness to embrace this change,” John Skipsey said, Project Manager – Helios Team.

The two modules will assist our operations with cost item management, integrated budget /change management, head contract change management, cost and revenue forecasting, dashboards and reporting. They also form the cornerstone for some of the remaining modules still to be rolled out, in particular, Plan, Progress and Contract.

“I would like to recognise the effort of the many people in our business who have been part of Helios so far, including those involved in learning the system, design, building, testing, training and supporting the rollout. These efforts, particularly in conjunction with people’s day-to-day roles have been much appreciated,” said Stuart Crofts, Project Sponsor for Helios.

While the Helios team continues to support the implementation of Stage 2, works continue on the next stage. They will share further updates as the project progresses.
