Chris Chatfield, put on a Monadelphous shirt for the first time over 24 years ago, after hearing from some mates that the resources industry is a good one to get into, so he thought why not give it ago?

Born and raised in Western Australia, Chris has now explored all parts of the country either with work or traveling around in his caravan. Starting out as a boilermaker in 1997 on his first project just outside of Mount Magnet, fast forward to 2023, Chris now finds himself as a Superintendent on a project in Greenbushes.

Holding various roles throughout the years and gaining experience on a variety of different projects, Chris progressed into a leadership position. During his time on site, he has lost count of the great people he has met along the way, from management right through to everyone on the ground, everyone shows genuine care for each other.

“Monadelphous has certainty grown a lot over the years, but with its growth comes the benefits of working for a big company. There is always support there when you need it,” Chris reflects.

“I would recommend this industry to anyone who isn’t afraid of a challenge, wants ongoing opportunities and a steady career path. You can climb the ladder or choose what type of career you would like to have, there are a lot of options,” he finishes.

The main reason that he enjoys working at Monadelphous is the people he gets to work with every day and how everyone comes together to help each other to succeed.

Chatty is looking forward to a couple of things in the near future, the next opportunity on the horizon, the chance to take his caravan out with his wife and for Fremantle to take home a flag.

On behalf of Monos, we thank Chris for his ongoing service!
