Our Gladstone team were proud to continue our strong working relationship with Central Queensland University (CQU) successfully delivering it’s fifth annual STEM Camp. This two-day immersive program brought together 14 students to engage in activities and foster enthusiasm for science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).
The interactive learning experience, made possible through a collaboration between Monadelphous and CQU, incorporates deep appreciation for working on Country and hands-on learning. This camp received strong support and involvement from our dedicated East Coast team.
A highlight of the camp was a tour of the local Monadelphous workshop, which opened students' eyes to the array of opportunities available in their backyard, a great opportunity to get these students thinking about a future in STEM and the diverse range of career options that Monadelphous offers.
Monadelphous Gladstone Operations Manager, Cam Hausler said:
“We’re delighted to be able to host the students and give them a bit of an insight into what a career in STEM looks like. At Monadelphous, we’re committed to supporting the next generation by highlighting diverse career pathways, especially as they begin to explore their options in Grade 10 and 11.”
Aligned to both our Reconciliation Action Plan and Gender Diversity and Inclusion Plan, Monadelphous continues to support students’ growth and development into these areas, encouraging STEM pathways and supporting Indigenous students.
Thank you to our dedicated and inspiring employees involved – it is great to be able to support hands-on STEM learning in our local community.
