Forklifts are essential vehicles for material handling in Monadelphous operations, but they also present inherent risks, particularly when loads aren’t properly secured.  

Recognising this, the M&IS Gladstone Operation team have developed a purpose-built securing device engineered to improve load restraint when using a forklift. The device, the ForkSure, is a practical solution designed to minimise the risk of load movement or loss during transport. 

The innovation features four cleats (two front, two rear) secured with ratchet straps, a super simple setup with no need to identify specific cleat positions.  

ForkSure restraint clamps are currently designed and engineered to accommodate a wide range of loads with variations available to suit forklift classes up to a load centre rated capacity of 5000kg. The ForkSure is particularly useful in situations where there is an increased risk of loads shifting or falling, such as transport over uneven surfaces. It is especially effective for securing non-routine loads, including long pipes, steel lengths, and pipe spools. 

In recognition of this clever innovation, the M&IS Gladstone Operation team was nominated for the 2025 Managing Director’s Safety Innovation Award. Congratulations crew!
