Alevro builds momentum for Pluto Train 1

Projects
1 Minute Read

We are excited to share that the Alevro Team has successfully received and installed the first module – a Gas Metering Skid, weighing just under 200 tonnes, for Woodside Energy's Pluto Train 1 Modifications project in Dampier.

The module was transported to site using our Self-Propelled Modular Transporters (SPMT) and installed with precision using our specialised hydraulic gantry system.

This wasn’t just a routine move. The entire transport-to-installation operation was executed in under 48 hours by two dedicated teams, showcasing exceptional co-ordination, technical skill, and our strong focus on safety.

This milestone marks the beginning of module movements for the project, which will continue to build momentum towards the delivery of the largest module - estimated to weigh close to 4,700 tonnes - scheduled for the first quarter of 2026.

Here’s what’s ahead:

  • Transportation of 7 modules from Port to Site via both LOLO and RORO operations with module weights ranging from 64 tonnes to 4650 tonnes.
  • Installations using trailer hydraulics (lowering down onto foundation) as well as various cranes up to 450t capacity and the SBL1100 Hydraulic Gantry system.
  • Ad hoc shipments spaced out across a 60-week schedule, peaking in early 2026.

To meet the challenge, our engineering team is pushing boundaries and developing custom solutions to meet our customer’s unique project requirements. From transport ramps covering underground services to a bespoke lifting beam to install one of the modules with offset centre of gravity - every detail counts!

After more than 1,800 hours of meticulous engineering and planning to date, we are proud to officially commence the project from an operational perspective.

A big thank you to everyone involved for their outstanding operational performance, vigilance, and relentless efforts in getting the job done safely and efficiently.

Your hard work has set the stage for the epic journey ahead as we continue to redefine what’s possible.
