Building a stronger wellbeing culture

1 Minute Read

Over the last 12 months, Monadelphous has continued to grow its commitment to workplace wellbeing, ensuring our people feel supported, valued, and empowered.

A key part of this journey has been the expansion of our Wellbeing Supporter network, with 55 trained supporters now spread across both office and site locations.

Each Wellbeing Supporter has completed accredited mental health first aid training and has access to a range of resources designed to assist them in their role.

They help create a workplace where people feel comfortable checking in with one another, speaking up about mental health, and accessing the support they need.

What does a Wellbeing Supporter do?

Wellbeing Supporters play an active role in embedding wellbeing into our workplace culture. Their efforts focus on three key elements:

  • Protect – Advocating for mental health and looking for opportunities to improve wellbeing at work.
  • Promote – Sharing resources, encouraging open conversations, and fostering a culture of support.
  • Respond – Checking in with colleagues, offering guidance, and connecting people to external support where needed.

More than just a title

Being a Wellbeing Supporter isn’t about having all the answers – it’s about being present, listening, and knowing where to direct people for help. Whether it’s promoting initiatives like Tinny Time, sharing lived experiences, or encouraging participation in health and inclusion programs, these supporters are making a real difference in our workplaces.

Importantly, the role is voluntary, and we recognise that individual wellbeing fluctuates. If at any time a Wellbeing Supporter feels the need to step back, support is available.

Interested in Getting Involved?

We’re always looking to grow the network with people who are passionate about creating a positive and supportive workplace. If this sounds like you, speak to your HSE or Supervisor to express interest.

Supporting each other is what makes Monos’ a great place to work – and with the continued growth of our wellbeing program, we’re taking meaningful steps to ensure our people thrive. Check out this poster for more information.

We also have a wellbeing platform available to all staff which includes recent recorded development sessions that have been conducted. You can access these here: Monadelphous - Building Wellbeing Platform
