We’re proud to announce that Monadelphous has been awarded the 2025 AREEA Mental Health & Wellbeing Award for our Wellbeing Supporter Program - a peer-led initiative that’s making a real difference across our sites and offices.

The award, presented at the AREEA Industry Gala Dinner, recognises organisations that go above and beyond to create safer, healthier, and more supportive workplaces. Accepting the award on behalf of Monadelphous were Joshua Reid (EC Divisional HSE Manager) and Paige Griffiths (Project Manager EC MMW), who have both played key roles in shaping and growing the program.

“Being happy and well is something we often take for granted,” Josh said.

“But when we’re not, life can be really bloody hard. We’re in a mental health crisis in this country, and we all have to do more.

“I’m proud that at Monadelphous, we are doing more, and that our Wellbeing Supporters are making a real, positive impact on people’s lives.”

The Wellbeing Supporter Program was born on a remote Pilbara construction site, where a few brave individuals shared their personal experiences with mental health in front of their crew. That moment sparked a ripple effect, demonstrating openness and support in action.

“We created an environment where mental health conversations aren’t just accepted, they are encouraged,” Paige said.

“Many of those individuals went on to complete accredited mental health first aid training and became our first site-based Wellbeing Supporters. I’m proud to say I was one of them.”

Since then, the program has grown to include over 100 trained Wellbeing Supporters across our Engineering Construction Division. The initiative includes regular debriefs, strategic lunch-and-learns, and a dedicated Wellbeing Platform in the form of an online hub to ensure that help is accessible to all employees.

“This program has never been about ticking boxes or meeting KPIs,” Paige added.

“It’s 100% voluntary and people-led. Our supporters genuinely care and want to look out for their workmates. That’s what makes it so special.”

“This program reflects the best of who we are at Monadelphous. It’s people-led, values-driven and built on genuine care. I’m incredibly proud of the team behind it and the impact it’s having across our business.” Adam Cook, Executive GM EC Division, said.

The award is a meaningful recognition of the care, connection and commitment our people bring to work every day. It’s also a reminder that mental health support should be part of how we work, not just something we talk about.

To our Wellbeing Supporters, our leaders, and every employee who’s embraced the program, this award belongs to you.
