Welcome to your October edition of The Fix, where you can catch up on the latest news from our Mining and Minerals North West Region, as well as from across the wider business.
You may have seen the recent announcement about the upcoming retirement of our Executive Chairman John Rubino after the AGM on 22 November. Over three decades, John has led the business to success and his leadership style has helped to build a solid foundation and shape Monadelphous into the successful Company we all know today. There are some subsequent leadership changes that will come into effect from 22 November, which are detailed in this newsletter – please take the time to have a read.
Within the North West Region, we continue to focus on diversifying our customer base and service offering across the Pilbara to support a steady pipeline of ongoing work. Some of our recently awarded contracts, including Roy Hill and Fortescue Metals Group (FMG), help us to achieve this strategic objective and enable our continued growth in the Pilbara. Find out more about the work that is now underway with Roy Hill and FMG in this edition of The Fix.
This month we also launched a new Safety Champion Reward and Recognition program to celebrate people who are living our safety values and to both recognise and encourage behaviours that align with our Delivering the Safe Way framework. Well done to Levi Knight from our East Pilbara Operations for being the inaugural winner of this award, a well-earned honour for demonstrating proactive safety leadership. You can read more about the award program and Levi’s achievement in this newsletter.
Across our business we have a number of high achieving people, both at work and beyond. This includes Desiree Kelly, whose story you can also read in this edition. Desiree manages our Workforce Management Team and has been previously recognised with a Monos Moment award for the great work she does, bringing people together and celebrating both team and individual successes. She was also recently announced as the newest member of Women’s National Basketball League team, the Perth Lynx, a goal she has worked towards since childhood. This is a huge achievement and I am looking forward to cheering Desiree and her team on this season.
Enjoy reading and, as always, please keep yourselves and one another safe.
Nick.
