Leadership Updates
2 Minute Read

Welcome to your first edition of The Fix for the year.

However you spent the festive season, I hope you had an opportunity to recharge following what was a busy year for us all. A special thank you to all who worked over the Christmas season, keeping our operations running smoothly and on schedule.

I am looking forward to another exciting year ahead for the Mining and Minerals North West Region.

Over the past 12 months, we have focused on diversifying our customer base, in particular building our new Roy Hill and FMG relationships. We have also been expanding our services in response to customers’ needs, including electrical, civil and piping to complement our traditional structural and mechanical service offerings.

In December, Monadelphous announced our reappointment to the BHP WAIO Site Engineering Panel for a three-year period and will continue providing multi-disciplinary services at BHP’s mine site and port operations in the Pilbara region. As part of this panel, we have previously completed car dumper work, bridge bearing replacements and various structural remediation projects. This appointment is in addition to a number of other Rio Tinto, BHP and FMG contracts secured, including a 12-month extension to our general maintenance and shutdown services contract for BHP Iron Ore operations.

Late last year, our HASHI 3-4 project team at BHP’s Jimblebar Mine completed the 1.4 kilometre haul road which links the Hashimoto mine deposits to existing infrastructure. You can read more about this project in this edition of The Fix.

You may recall last year we also launched the Northern Star Achievement Award, to recognise those who continue to perform above and beyond within our business. I firmly believe that our people are and have always been our greatest assets, which is why it is so important that we continue to recognise and reward our high achieving team members. Congratulations to Natasha Di Silvio for being awarded our first Northern Star, amongst a number of great nominations. You can read Natasha’s story and more about the award in this newsletter.

Also featured in this edition, the Cape Lambert Scaffold Team scooped up a well-deserved win in the newest divisional safety award category – Delivering the Safe Way in Action – at the Maintenance & Industrial Services awards in December. The team showed great initiative and were proactive in ensuring the work site was safe for everyone, earning them recognition from the customer. Well done to everyone involved.

On a sombre note, we started the year with the sad news of the passing of former Monadelphous Chairman John Rubino. Having been with the Company for more than 30 years, John was instrumental in shaping Monadelphous into what it is today and touched many lives along the way. He will be greatly missed by all and our thoughts are with his family during this time. The Rubino family have asked us to collate memories and stories for them. If you would like to contribute or share your condolences, please email through to communciations@monadel.com.au

As always, please stay safe and look out for one another.

Nick.
