Our Port Hedland team recently made the move into a spacious new facility in Wedgefield, featuring modern new offices, workshop and break rooms as well as a substantial rooftop solar PV system.
On Thursday 15th of September, we celebrated the official opening, as well as Monadelphous’ 50th year of operation. Our Port Hedland team were joined by senior leaders, as well as customer and supplier representatives who came along to help us mark our 50-year milestone and visit the new facility. The local Nyamal Group also attended to conduct the Welcome to Country on the day.
Operations Manager Brian Honti said that the facility signifies our long-term commitment to delivering for our customers in the region.
“The Pilbara has been an integral part of Monadelphous’ journey over the decades, so it is exciting to continue to grow our presence here,” he said.
“As we expand our footprint in Port Hedland, this ultimately means more job opportunities, more community support and more supplier partnerships.
“While the open day was about launching this new facility, it was also an opportunity to reflect on the great work we have done here over the years in supporting our customers.
“A special mention also to Tobias Harders and his team from Harders Construction who have worked with us over the past two and a half years to bring this magnificent facility to life.”
Maintenance and Industrial Services Executive General Manager Zoran Bebic said that the dedication of our local team has been the key to our continued growth in the region.
“Our regional operations have been instrumental to our wider success over the years and at the core of this is our people,” he said.
“I am really proud of what our team has been able to achieve and am looking forward to seeing what the future holds in Port Hedland.”
Back in May, we opened our expanded Tom Price facility and preparations are underway for the development of a new facility in Karratha in 2023. In addition to our existing workshop in Newman, these are all part of our commitment to the Pilbara region well into the future.
