Equipping local kids for the school year

1 Minute Read

Before the new school year kicked off, our team in the Hunter teamed up with COS to provide school kits to local children via the Wanaruah Local Aboriginal Land Council (LALC).

Based in Muswellbrook, the Wanaruah LALC represents the interests of the Aboriginal community and runs an in-school program for local children.

Together with COS, Monadelphous donated essential classroom items to equip kids for the year ahead, including A4 books, note pads, pens, pencils, highlighters, a calculator and erasers.

Monadelphous Area Manager Christoper Sciacca recently met with Wanaruah LALC CEO Dee-Anne Douglas to deliver the items for the school kits.

Chris said it was a great way to give a helping hand to local families at the start of term.

“We were excited to help get the school gear to the kids and help set them up for success at school,” he said.

“We know that Wanaruah do great work in our community and are proud to be able to do our bit to support them.”

Dee-Anne said that the team were very grateful for the donation from COS and Monadelphous and got together before school term to assemble school kits ready for the kids.
