Twenty-one Karratha-based not-for-profit community groups and grassroots organisatons, have received grants as part of the inaugural Monadelphous Karratha Community Grants Program, with a collective value of $50,000.
The small grants, ranging from $2,000 up to $5,000, are designed to assist with the costs associated with running a community group or club.
Monadelphous General Manager – Energy, Doug Macintyre said the Program is an important part of the company’s ongoing commitment to the Karratha community.
“Monadelphous has been a part of the Karratha community for over 30 years, with a significant number of our employees living and working in the region and contributing to the community,” Doug said.
“We have a long history supporting not-for-profit organisations in the region and, through these targeted grants, are proud to help these groups provide important services and opportunities that enrich the local community.”
The funding has supported a range of uses, from providing a new shade sail at a local primary school to keep students sun safe, to new sports team uniforms and netball clubroom upgrades, as well as a range of other community-driven initiatives.
The grants application period opened on 1 August 2023 and closed 30 September 2023.
