Monadelphous has had operations in Karratha for more than 30 years, expanding our footprint in the region over this time.
As many of our people live and work in Karratha, we continue to support a range of community groups and events, including being a major supporter of the FeNaClNG Festival.
We recently launched a campaign that tells our story from the perspective of our people and our community partners.
Watch the video below:
In addition to our support of FeNaClNG Festival, some of our recent initiatives in the region include volunteering for the Port Samson Foreshore Rehabilitation and hosting the Girls in Engineering UWA team.
GIRLS IN ENGINEERING TAKE ON KARRATHA
Since beginning our partnership with the University of Western Australia’s (UWA) Girls in Engineering program in 2018 with founding partner Rio Tinto, Monadelphous employees have been presenting at schools, speaking at events and facilitating workshops in regional locations across Western Australia.
Five students and two staff from the Girls in Engineering UWA team recently travelled to Karratha and visited the Monadelphous workshop to get a taste of life on site, hearing about our current projects and teams’ experiences.
If you are interested in volunteering to present at schools in WA on behalf of Monadelphous, register your interest here.
CLEANING UP KARRATHA FORESHORE
Along with the City of Karratha and students from the STARS Foundation, Monadelphous employees volunteered as part of the Foreshore Rehabilitation Program, which is aimed at protecting and enhancing the environmental, cultural, recreational and resource functions of the Karratha foreshores.
Initial stages of the project have now been completed including removal of invasive tamarisk, weed matting installed and planting of native species.
As well as volunteering, we also contributed funds to support ongoing clean-ups, weed control and the planting of species and native plants.
SPONSORING FENACLNG FESTIVAL
As we celebrate our 50th year in operation this year, the FeNaCING Festival is also marking its 50th anniversary. In 2022, we are proud to be a major sponsor of the much loved community event and the Fireworks Spectacular naming rights sponsor.
The festival involves a range of activities and performances, showcasing displays of Tae Kwon Do, cultural performances, local bands, and dance groups along with a tug-of-war competition and the fireworks spectacle.
