Leadership Updates
2 Minute Read

Welcome to the latest edition of The Pipeline. The months are already flying by this year as we remain busy across the Mining and Minerals Southern Region.

In February, Monadelphous released its half year results, for 1 July to 31 December 2023, reporting revenue of just over $1 billion for the period! It was a strong half year across the Company with solid financial performance and significant contract awards.  Each of you play a role in achieving these results and can be proud to be a contributing part of this success!

You would no doubt be aware of recent news stories surrounding some of our customer’s markets and price volatility of some commodities (Nickel & Lithium). While the longer-term outlook remains positive, it is also important to remember that as a contractor, we focus on ensuring we have a diverse customer base and maintain a strong pipeline of work.

We have had some recent management team changes supporting strategic growth in Western Australia's South-West.  This includes the creation of a new Project Manager role to focus on regional strategy, growth, acquisitions, and pre-contract management. Kate Baker is transitioning into this new role this month, and I know that her expertise and many skills will be a significant asset. Kate will hand over the reins of Project Manager at Albemarle to Jason Markwell, a long-term respected member of the Monadelphous team who is making the move from the Pilbara.  With Jason’s experience and recent relocation to the South-West region he will be well placed to lead the team.  As always, the priority is to ensure a smooth transition for all involved, maintaining our great culture and delivering for our customers.

We are fortunate to have a fantastic team across our business, with our people like family. Over the past month, we have celebrated many service milestones, recognising dedication and loyalty.

In Kalgoorlie, we hosted a BBQ to honour several of these service milestones as well as apprentices for completing their trade certificates. Damien Knight celebrated his 20th anniversary, Matthew Souchon marked his 10-year milestone, Teresa Fariss with 5 years, all showcasing exceptional loyalty and performance. Cody Watson and Logan Warnest completed their apprenticeships, stepping up as tradespeople. Whilst in the South-West, Garry Fisher was celebrated for an astounding 40 years of service at the Synergy Muja site in Collie, with a surprise event attended by many colleagues and his wife, Lyn. Congratulations to all!

International Women’s Day is just around the corner (Friday 8th March). It is a global day of encouraging action to promote gender equality and celebrate women's achievements. This year's theme, Inspire Inclusion, is about how we can collectively forge a world free of bias, stereotypes and discrimination and inspire others to understand and value inclusion.

In line with our Gender Diversity and Inclusion Plan, we will support a range of International Women's Day initiatives. Be sure to like and follow Monadelphous on social media to keep up to date with what's happening as share our stories ahead of International Women's Day – you can follow us on LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram.

Enjoy reading, stay safe and look out for one another.

Cheers, Paul.
