A message from Paul Francis

Hello everyone,

Welcome to the September edition of The Pipeline.

I want to start by talking about something that matters every single day: Safety!

At Monadelphous, The Safe Way is the Only Way isn’t just a policy – it’s how we look out for each other. It allows each of us to stop work if something doesn’t feel right and make sure we do the job safely, every time.

I can’t stress enough how important this is. As workloads ramp up, and everyone gets busier, it’s easy to get caught up in deadlines or the next big task, but safety isn’t optional. It’s the bare minimum.

Recently, there have been two tragic workplace fatalities in WA in other organisations. That’s a stark reminder that we all need to stay alert, speak up if something doesn’t feel safe, and always watch out for each other.

Earlier this month, I, along with several of our MMS senior leaders, had the pleasure of attending the M&IS Leadership Conference. It was fantastic to celebrate some of the great work happening across the division and get a sneak peek at where the company and division are headed. You can read more about this in the newsletter.

I’m especially proud to share that MMS came away with two awards! Our Southwest team took out the Most Innovative Operations Award, recognising clever ideas that genuinely make a difference to the way we work. And, our RTW team won the Most Improved Safety Performance Award, delivering over 115,000 hours without a recordable injury. However, it is important to remember that safety isn’t a one-off, it’s a continuous effort, and there’s no room for complacency.

Congratulations to both teams, these awards are well deserved and proof that great ideas and hard work really do pay off!

On the community side, our 2025 Community Grants Program is now open. This year, we’ve expanded it to eight regions: Bunbury and surrounds, Darwin, Gladstone, Goldfields, Karratha, Newman, Port Hedland, and Roxby Downs. You can find out more about them here.
