The Monadelphous team has achieved a significant milestone with the recent completion of a Gas Line Project.

This endeavour is part of our customer’s push towards a more reliable and cost-effective energy source, as the project team converted the existing LPG-dependent infrastructure to utilise natural gas.

Ronak Das, the Project Engineer involved in the initiative, elaborated on the project and its objectives.

“This strategic move ensures a dependable energy supply and promises substantial savings in operational expenses by converting the regeneration kiln to natural gas," Ronak said.

The project commenced its design phase in September 2023, and the team actively participated in shaping crucial specifications and ensuring seamless integration with existing infrastructure.

"We had the chance to inform some of the specifications regarding installation sequence and constructability,” Ronak said.

The project's success comes down to the teamwork and dedicated efforts of the site team, comprising five key members: Luke Provost (Supervisor), Murray Thomas (Boilermaker), Jubinel Sucuaja (Coded Welder), Andy Mcbride (Mechanical Fitter), and Teri Coleman (Trade Assistant). Their expertise, coupled with support from the Kalgoorlie fabrications workshop team, were instrumental in ensuring the project's timely completion.

Ronak said that the scope required meticulous planning and execution to meet rigorous testing and inspection requirements.

"Being a gas pipeline, it did come with more challenges and requirements – it was interesting to see more testing requirements compared to other projects," Ronak said.

Navigating the project's complexities, the Monadelphous team successfully completed the gas pipeline and provided commissioning support to site stakeholders for gas approval from gas inspector.

For Ronak, personally, the most rewarding aspect of the project was the ability to be involved throughout the entire project cycle, from the design phase through to commissioning and completion.

Well done to all involved in achieving a great outcome for our customer.
