After 20 years Quentin Radomiljac looks back and reflects on his time at Monadelphous.
Originally from Manjimup, WA, Quentin started his career as a Boilermaker / Welder.
He first joined Monadelphous in April 2005 as a Project Manager on the Stacker Rail Replacement Project at Paraburdoo.
“At the time, I was just coming to help with that project for a few months and then see you later,” Quentin said.
“Before I knew it, other opportunities presented themselves, and in November 2005, I took a permanent role. Twenty years later, here I am.”
That “few months” turned into two decades, during which Quentin has worked across a variety of operational and estimating support roles.
Most of his time has been spent as Estimating Manager, supporting the broader M&IS business across the Northwest, Southwest, Goldfields and Roxby Downs. Over the past two years, he has focused on supporting the MMS operations.
“I’ve been fortunate enough to be involved with various M&IS operations and sites,” he said.
“It’s provided me with the opportunities to gain a broad understanding and knowledge of the business and to work with many great people.
“The people, the flexibility and the opportunities I have been given are what has made my time at Monadelphous most enjoyable.
“There are plenty of great memories and plenty of characters I could tell stories about, but I might just leave it there.
“I have been fortunate enough to be involved in some great projects, work with many great people and have had plenty of support over my time at Monadelphous, which I am very grateful for.”
For those eyeing a long and successful career in the industry, Quentin’s guidance is simple and impactful.
“Listen and learn. Ask plenty of questions. There are a lot of people with a lot of knowledge out there and don’t be scared to make mistakes, that’s sometimes what shapes you,” he said.
“Keep at it and the opportunities will come.”
