Hi everyone,
It’s been a busy few months at Melchor, with plenty of exciting progress across our projects and teams. Life here continues at a rapid pace – we’ve kicked off new work, tendered for several opportunities, and maintained strong performance across the business. We’re bringing in new talent to support our growth, while continuing to meet both our safety and financial targets.
We recently completed our services contract for Talison at Greenbushes, marking the end of our involvement in CGP3 and the follow-on works that kept us on site for more than two years. We’ve left behind a great legacy and a very happy client – a fantastic achievement by all involved. At the same time, we remain hard at work for the Saipem Clough JV on Perdaman’s Urea Project near Karratha, are making excellent progress on the Port Maximisation Project for Mid West Ports in Geraldton, and have commenced onsite works for BHP’s Jimblebar TLO Replacement Project, with bulk earthworks now underway.
Our involvement in the current wave of integrated projects with EC Projects, Mondium, and M&IS are drawing to a close. We’ve either demobilised or are on the home stretch at CD3, CLAHDO, ANFO, and Prominent Hill. A big thank you to everyone who contributed to these jobs. Looking ahead, we’ll continue working alongside EC Projects in integrated teams to deliver projects for BHP CD4 and Rio’s Brockman Syncline 1 – both kicking off soon, with our involvement right from the start. One highlight over the past few months has been recruiting an outstanding bulk earthworks team. With pre-contracts, project management, engineering, and field leadership all covered, we’re well positioned for what’s next.
Our next challenge is to secure follow-on work after JB TLO, but with a team like ours, I’m confident we’ll rise to the occasion. It’s also great to see a steady flow of new starters joining the business – please take a moment to welcome them when you see them around.
We also recently hosted our annual Rising Talent Golf Day – one of our favourite events on the Melchor calendar. It was an amazing opportunity for apprentices, trainees, graduates, and undergraduates to connect with leaders, give back to the community, and celebrate emerging talent. Congratulations to our winning team, and a special mention to Kai, recipient of the Kendall Worroll Rising Talent of the Year Award 2025.
And with Christmas just around the corner, I want to thank all of you for your hard work, dedication, and efforts throughout the year. We couldn’t do it without you, and I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved together. Let’s keep the momentum going, and as always, remember – the safe way is the only way.
Stuart
