Leadership Updates
3 Minute Read

As we close out the year, I want to take a moment to look back at what we’ve achieved together and share a few highlights before we all take a well-earned break. From major shutdowns to global collaboration, 2025 has been a year of innovation, resilience and teamwork.

I’d like to start by sharing that Monadelphous was recently recognised by BHP as a finalist for the Innovation Award at the 2025 WAIO Vendor Excellence Awards! This recognition celebrates the creative thinking and problem-solving that shaped one of the most complex and high-impact shutdowns in our history – the Car Dumper 3 Renewal Project at Port Hedland. From acquiring Rubino, one of Australia’s most powerful cranes, to executing a precision lift that set a new benchmark for car dumper upgrades, innovation was at the heart of every decision.

A huge thank you to our incredible team and partners for making this possible. Whilst we didn’t take out the award, being shortlisted as a finalist is a testament to our commitment to engineering excellence, collaboration and forward-focused solutions that deliver real value for our customers, and I am extremely proud of this achievement which will set us up well as we move onto Car Dumper 4.

I also want to acknowledge the tremendous efforts and resilience at both the BHP OB32 and Mondium CLAHDO sites, both of which are looking to demobilise from site before Christmas on projects which have had their share of challenges.

On the global front, Inteforge continues to play a vital role in our operations. We’ll soon be hosting visitors from our new partners, Kerman Contracting, as we prepare for upcoming projects.

Our partnership with Kerman Contracting is off to a great start. Kerman is one of WA’s most experienced design and construction companies, and bringing them on board has really strengthened what we can offer - especially in non-process infrastructure design and construction. Since joining us in October, we’ve already started working together on our first joint project, the Hope Downs MEM workshop. Fabrication is set to kick off in December/January in China. It’s exciting to see how quickly we’re combining our strengths with a shared focus on delivering more for our customers.

Fabrication is progressing on the Jimblebar Train Load Out (TLO) project also in China, and we continue to deliver on major contracts like Origin Energy. Following a two-year renewal of our Master Goods Agreement, Inteforge has now supplied more than 2,500 process skids, over 1,000 pressure vessels, and approximately 1.6 million diameter inches of pipe spooling since 2015 – an incredible achievement that speaks volumes about the team’s reliability and capability. This high-volume wellsite equipment manufacturing contract underway remains one of the largest active packages in our portfolio.

The Eneabba Rare Earths project has shifted focus to pipe rack delivery, with structural packages clearing out of the workshop in Vietnam. Significant deliveries are already on site, and while late-stage engineering releases and shifting priorities continue to challenge us, the team is working hard to accelerate wherever possible and build in contingencies to manage delays.

I also want to take a moment to talk about something that matters deeply to me – your safety and wellbeing. The end-of-year period is one of the highest-risk times for our people. Increased pressures, tight deadlines and the distractions of the festive season can easily take our focus off the job. That’s when mistakes happen, and none of us want that.

Our Finishing Strong, Starting Stronger campaign is here to help us stay sharp and look out for each other. In December, the focus is on “Checking In, Staying Focused, Checking Out.” This means taking the time to check in on your mates, watch for signs of stress or fatigue, and use the shutdown checklist tool to make sure nothing gets missed. It’s about slowing down just enough to stay safe.

When we return in January, it’s all about “Start Soft, Start Safe.” Coming back after a break can be challenging, and rushing into work is a recipe for risk. The Site Re-start Checklist will help us ease back in, re-establish our safety culture and make sure wellbeing is front and centre.

Please take this seriously. Every single one of us has a role to play in making sure we finish the year strong and start the next one even stronger. Nothing is more important than getting everyone home safe – everyday.

Finally, I’d like to welcome Patrick Fraser to the team in the role of Operations Manager. Patrick joins us from Downer, bringing over 14 years of experience in project controls, planning and operations management across mining, oil and gas and heavy industry. Patrick started with us on 17 November and will be leading project delivery and strengthening operational performance across EC. Great to have you on board, Patrick!

Thanks to each and every one of you for your hard work, commitment and collaboration throughout 2025. Let’s finish strong, start stronger, and keep safety and wellbeing front of mind. Wishing you and your families a safe and happy festive season.

Until next time,
Russ
