Leadership Updates
2 Minute Read

Welcome back. We’re really pleased to see and report on our recent safety performance, which has significantly improved across all of our mining and minerals operations. This performance doesn’t come from nothing, it takes clear focus and dedication. Our challenge is to now continue the improved trend, which we know is possible.

In the safety space we’re still looking for candidates for our trades team who are interested in moving into HSE roles, we really value the experience that being in the field every day brings to the HSE space. We’ve seen a number of people make the transition, which is supported by us with all the training and tools to ensure you’re setup for success. Talk to your site HSE representative or supervisor if you’re interested.

We continue to be all systems go on the project front. We’ve been demobilising, remobilising and recruiting with vigour as projects wrap up and new works commence. There’s plenty of work on the horizon, we’re bidding and in discussions on several projects currently and the longer-term pipeline presents many great possibilities. While we’ll see a number of familiar faces returning to the office with projects completing, there’s more than enough work to keep everyone busy, as well as out in the field.

PROJECT UPDATES

  • Western Turner Syncline 2, with Mondium, is remobilising a small group of people to finish off some outstanding work
  • Gudai-Darri is pushing hard towards first ore later this month. We’re continuing to recruit, with team numbers increasing regularly and mobilising in response to meet Rio’s ongoing project requirements
  • At the Kemerton Lithium Plant (KLP) we’re on the home straight for our SMP works, with the team starting to demobilise, while the newer E&I work scope is picking up and the electrical team numbers are growing
  • Over at South Flank, we’ve mobilised additional people to support shutdown works this month
  • A small team remains onsite at Olympic Dam working on the acid buffer tanks, with the support of a subcontractor crew of scaffolders and painters. Works are due for completion mid-year
  • The Jimblebar surplus water project has been successful and the team are wrapping the project up and demobilising from site
  • Two major shutdowns in Tom Price are ahead of us at Rio’s Western Turner, and a team has been gradually mobilising to site in readiness for the shutdowns in May and August

We mentioned we’re busily in discussion about the future pipeline of work. We can’t divulge the details at this point in time, but we can say that work in our core markets is strong across iron or and lithium, as well as a return to some of our international works.

On the people front, we’ve recently welcomed a new cohort of graduates to the team on the Monadelphous Graduate Program. Please welcome our new team members and show them the Monos Way! Applications are closing soon for the 2023 Graduate Program, so if you know a soon-to-be Engineering, Construction Management, Accounting or HSE graduate, submit a referral to graduates@monadel.com.au. Visit monosgrads.com.au/graduates for more information.

Finally, we hope you enjoyed an Easter break, or will have the chance to enjoy the upcoming ANZAC long weekend. For those that are onsite and away from loved-ones during these times, we thank you for your ongoing dedication to delivering on our promises.

Regards,

Paul and Brett
