Manifesting manifolds

As part of our ongoing pipeline maintenance contract, the team working on the Surat Basin pond upgrades and remediation project faced the challenge of finding a solution for a complex pump manifold system – enter Luke Lavelle, Leading Hand Poly Welder, with a solution.

“I was initially told I’d need to use electrofusion couplers to make it work,” Luke said.

“I thought it would look better without the couplers and decided to fabricate a tricky 250-315 manifold instead.”

The solution was so innovative that Luke has been recognised by McElroy fusion machines for their monthly “Champions of Fusion” award, taking entries from across the globe.

This work forms part of the ongoing pipeline maintenance and construction services contract for the customer, which the iPipe team has successfully executed for the past nine years.
