Whitehaven Coal Blackwater Community Open Day

In November of 2024, Monadelphous attended Whitehaven Coal’s Blackwater Community Open Day.

The open day included a full schedule of activities, with families enjoying jumping castles, pony rides, face painting, amusement rides and entertainment, with a range of market stalls and food vendors, the Open Day ticked all the boxes for a fun family day out.

The day was an opportunity for the Monadelphous team to connect with the Blackwater community and celebrate a successful first year working with Whitehaven Coal.

At Monadelphous, community engagement is central in our sustainability framework, ensuring we enrich the communities where we work, building strong, lasting relationships in the places we live.

Monadelphous Superintendent Paul Caveny emphasised the importance of planning ahead.

“This has been a great way to cap off our first year as part of the Whitehaven family and gives us a lot to look forward to for the future,” Paul said.

Monadelphous is proud to embed ourselves in the community and is looking forward to continuing to develop our working relationship with Whitehaven Coal and the community.
