A Christmas message from Lorna Rechichi

Leadership Updates EC
2 Minute Read

As the year draws to a close, it’s the perfect time to reflect on everything we’ve accomplished together throughout 2024. Your hard work and dedication have been instrumental in achieving a remarkable year, and I’d like to extend my heartfelt thanks to each of you.

We’ve had an impressive run of milestones and successes this year. Some highlights include:

  • Our safety performance has improved, particularly in the significant incident frequency. This requires constant focus to achieve, and I congratulate and thank everyone for speaking up and looking after your mates.
  • Multiple safety initiatives progressed including Franna IVMS override notification implemented (Winner in the EC innovation awards and recognised as a finalist in the WHS awards), driver fatigue and distraction technology implemented (35 out of 43 assets installed at FMG), hands of rigging progression, crane data monitoring All Terrain fleet.
  • Successful completion of Pluto 2 (end of December) with strong safety performance and client feedback. Monumental achievement and “earned the right” for Alevro to have a competitive edge in the Heavy Haulage and Alternative Lifting market and solidified reputation with Bechtel.
  • Alevro secured 1st East coast project at Ampol Future Fuels with Kent supporting geographic expansion and 2nd significant heavy haulage scope for project Ceres with SCJV.
  • Recruiting and mobilising 114 people across all our sites over the past 12 months.
  • Significant tendering activity volume, increased study works and ECI engagement setting us up for future success.
  • Delivered multiple shutdowns and fixed plant scopes at Fortescue with excellence.
  • Strong pipeline out of Port Hedland Depot, with TAMS, multiple M&IS projects, Western Range shut, CD3 support, Western turner, Ore cars project.
  • Introducing ‘Rubino,’ our 1,600-tonne crane, the newest and largest in our fleet, unveiled in Port Hedland.   Creating strong differentiator for future project work.
  • Opening our new Gap Ridge Hub in Karratha in June, the largest facility we’ve ever owned to bring together our people, equipment, and operations under one expansive roof.
  • Teams trained in Dynamics (our new quote to claim system) with final functionality for phase 1 released and tested. Goal for implementation by Feb 2025!
  • Winning the Women in Resources Outstanding Company Initiative Award for our Crane Operations Traineeship Pathways program, paving the way for more pathway initiatives. The rigging traineeship expected to be kicked off in first half of 2025.
  • Team members involved in training and development including Emerging Leaders, Leading @ Monadelphous, mentor programs, female leadership programs, crane operator traineeships, SPMT training.
  • Celebrating Alevro’s CICA Innovation Award wins in both categories - People’s Choice and CICA-judged for the bespoke synchronous jacking system developed for Pluto Train 2. The system is now under consideration for global adoption by our client due to its cost and time-saving benefits.
  • Progressing our decarbonisation journey with the purchase of our first electric pick and carry crane, due to arrive early in 2025.

I’m incredibly proud of everything we’ve achieved this year. It’s been a team effort, with everyone supporting each other and consistently delivering exceptional outcomes.

As we approach the holiday season, it’s important to remember that this time of year can bring added pressures and distractions. Let’s stay focused on finishing the year strong and looking out for one another to ensure everyone heads home safely.

We’ve launched our Finishing Strong, Starting Stronger safety campaign to help manage some of the challenges this period can bring. I encourage everyone to make use of these tools.

For those continuing operations over the festive season, thank you for your commitment and the sacrifices you’re making to keep our projects running smoothly. Your dedication is truly appreciated. For those taking a break, I hope you enjoy some well-earned time off with family and friends to reset and recharge for the new year.

Thank you once again for all your hard work and achievements throughout 2024. I’m excited about what we’ll accomplish together in 2025.

Wishing you all a safe and merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
