In late September, a team from Monos travelled across the globe to visit the Tadano factory in Zweibrücken, Germany.
Heavy Lift Operations Manager Marlon Baars, EC Project Manager Brent Jones, and EC Construction Manager Zoran Protich gained firsthand insight into the meticulous construction process of the CC8800 (1,600T Crane Crawler), tracing its journey from raw steel to a fully operational powerhouse.
The manufacturing phase revealed intricate welding processes executed by highly skilled professionals, showcasing the craftsmanship inherent in developing this colossal crane.
The visit also bore ceremonial significance as a symbolic "handover" at Tadano's testing facility. Notably, the Monadelphous CC8800 had already completed its testing phases and was undergoing final touches off-site, with the ceremonial photos taken in front of another formidable crawler undergoing testing.
Tadano's hospitality extended beyond the manufacturing floor, with the team participating in informative product sessions. Topics ranged from crucial safety measures to the electrification of the fleet, reinforcing Monadelphous' commitment to staying at the forefront of industry advancements.
With the manufacturing phase concluded, the CC8800 has embarked on the next phase of its journey. The crane components were loaded onto a ship in Rotterdam in early December and have since set sail. The vessel is enroute to Port Hedland, where the CC8800 is expected to arrive and join Monadelphous' fleet in January 2024.
This achievement signifies a collaborative success between Monadelphous and Tadano, showcasing dedication to precision, safety, and cutting-edge technology.
Stay tuned for further updates as the CC8800 approaches its arrival in Port Hedland.
