Our Heavy Lift team is at the forefront of safety technology with the introduction of Presien Blind Sight camera technology.

Presien Blind Sight cameras use artificial intelligence technology to identify and alert operators of hazards they cannot see.

Health, Safety and Environment Lead, Travis Gaspar, said the implementation of this technology aims to prevent plant verses people, plant verses plant and plant verses structure incidents.

“The cameras are placed in the crane operators’ blind spots and alerts them of any hazards through visuals, vibrations or audio alerts in the cab.”

“We trialed the technology on site in the Pilbara initially and found it to be a fantastic tool and had some great feedback from the crane operators, so we’ve continued to implement it across our projects, ultimately creating a safer working environment for everyone on site,” he said.

“It’s great that the system can be configured to identify and alert for a variety of hazards, including people, light and heavy vehicles and safety cones, and can be customised for unique sites,” he said.

“We’re able to get live data and notifications through a web-based app system, which has proven to be helpful in reducing incidents on site.”

“It’s fantastic that we can provide even safer working environments for our people using new and innovative technologies such as this one,” he said.
